I have been to three (!!!) conferences in the last few weeks, from Instant Miracle Experience with Christian Mickelsen to Ultimate Sales Bootcamp with Lisa Sasevich to the annual Hayhouse World Summit. Hayhouse lined up amazing speakers and workshops, my favorite being Dr. Wayne Dyer,Caroline Myss, Dr. Joe Dispenza and Kate Northrup.
Why I Do What I Do...
Happiness and Mindfulness
Last week I went to a lecture by Shauna Shapiro, Mindful Discipline. Nothing new, I figured, but then again, I could use a reminder about mindfulness for sure and, hearing it in another way is always helpful. Well, though a very simple concept, the evening was quite eye opening for all of us there. The big AHA: Mindfulness is the key piece to raising our happiness level.
Engagement and Balance
Prompted by several conversations I have had lately with clients in high level positions, I’ve been thinking about what “balance” really means.
Work/life balance is a phrase that is much used these days and the first thought is generally that “work” occupies one space, “life” another, and somehow those two things need to be balanced properly.
Surrender
In this last week that I’ve been back from Burning Man, the most frequently asked question, of course, has been, “so, how was Burning Man?” I’ve noticed that it is an almost impossible question to answer. BM is a completely different experience for everyone and generally, it is exactly what you need. The Playa provides.
Adventure
Yesterday I was talking to a dear friend of mine and she said to me: “I’m just so blown away by how many adventures you manage to have in your life.” It is true, I just got back from a long weekend in Colorado at Rocky Mountain Folks Fest, am about to leave for Burning Man and there have been many amazing events and trips this entire year and many more to come!
Charged
E.G.O
It’s been a truly interesting day. You see, I am on the cusp of stepping up into something very big. Something that is a big change for me and really requires me to show up in a whole new way. And I have been learning that there is quite a gap between wanting to do something big and bold, moving toward it, and actually DOING IT (don’t worry, you’ll hear more about this…).
Change Your Focus
Opening The Door
I just spent the last few days at Kate Wolf Memorial Music Festival. As always when I am around musicians, I was reminded of how important it is to have passion and purpose for what we do.
Musicians who are actually out and playing in front of people, have a tremendous amount of passion and determination (that’s the definition for grit…) and courage. I keep comparing playing music to what all of us heart-centered entrepreneurs have to do:
One Thing At A Time...
We all know by now that multitasking is not effective. Yet, we keep doing it and seems REALLY HARD to focus on one thing at a time. Singletasking on the other hand, seems kind of boring.
In his research for his article "What Multitasking Does To Our Brains", Leo Widrich discovered some interesting stuff.
Good or Great?
Conquering Fear
As many of you know, I’ve been doing some new and very exciting things in the last few months. Joining a mastermind and mentorship program, creating new ways of doing things, designing my success system–all of it has been requiring me to stretch and change in ways that have, at times, been very uncomfortable and as a result, produced a lot of fear in me.
To Sell or Not to Sell
Do you love your business but hate to sell?
Most of us sell something: a product, service, entertainment, promise, transformation–if you are in business, you are selling something. And for most of my clients, heart-centered entrepreneurs, there is little else that makes them as uncomfortable. I just got back from an event with Lisa Sasevich, “The Queen of Sales Conversion.” Prior to working with Lisa, the “sales conversation” was my least favorite part of enrolling a new client. But there is no having clients without enrolling them. And unless you are independently wealthy, that involves asking for money. Are you squirming in your chair? This is what I learned from working with Lisa:
Deconstructing
As I’ve spent my last week In New Orleans, talking to a lot of people, seeing a lot of fantastic music, the subject of passion and desire is fresh on my mind.
I hadn’t been here since before Katrina and it was profoundly touching to see the city in its new skin: fresh, strong and maybe more intoxicating and self-assured than ever.
